‘Finding Forrester’ is a movie that shows a relationship between an intelligent black boy at the age of 16 with a famous writer. I dislike this movie because the storyline is dull and boring. The only part I enjoy is when the boy, Jamal participating in the basketball competition.
This movie does not inspire me much as the writer, William Forrester teaches the boy, Jamal outside the school.
Their relationship begins when Jamal sneaks into Wiliam Forrester’s home. However, he was chase away by William Forrester. Jamal left his bag at Forrester’s home. When he returns to retrieve his bag, he finds that all his essays were commented on. Jamal went to ask Mr. Forrester if he could help to improve his writing skills. William agrees to help Jamal by the condition that Jamal would keep William’s secret identity. Jamal agreed and they both become friends.
Errmmm…. I feel quite touch by their friendship. I found that teachers and students can be friends. Students will feel free to share their feeling if their teachers treat them as friends. For me, I think I will be my students’ friend outside the class in order to build up the relationship with them.
Overall, I discover that the movie contains moral values but the storyline is presented in a lengthy and dull way…
