Documentary~~~

Wow…Boring…Dull…But Useful~~~ We watched a documentary about few teachers share on how they manage their classes. It really provided me with some ideas on the real situation of teaching in schools. The documentary is in American context and the students are average in their studies and behaviors.

The first person introduced to us is a History teacher. He tries his best to involve the students in the teaching learning process. The teacher does not look confident in his teaching. Students will not show respect to teachers who are lack of self confidence. This reminds me to keep my confidence in my teaching.

The second person showed to us is a Physical Education (PE) teacher. She is a senior of the school. She is very committed to the school and she feels unsatisfied with the administration board. What impress me most is her mentions about the different behaviors of different person and she needs to put herself in their shoes to feel what they feel and to be tolerant. I agree with her statement. It reminds me that I will teach students with different learning styles and different levels of language proficiency.

The third teacher is portrayed as a teacher who loves to be famous. He gets very angry when he lost in the election for teacher of the year. He fails to control his emotion and kicks the table till it falls off. At the end, he realizes his own weaknesses and he decides to control his emotion.

Another person introduced is a lady who holds the position as an assistant principal. She faces much more pressures than other teachers. But she tries her best to cope with the problems faced by teachers when they come to her.

This documentary shows how three teachers and an assistant principle cope with their school lives. The problems they faced in school maybe the problem that I will face in my future teaching. It did provide me with ideas in coping with school lives.
